I know you guys have tried to turn this new format around but I’m just afraid it still kinda sucks. The forum may be lost for good since all this has happened. Just speaking for me (but I know other people feel the same) this place just is not the same anymore.

The format just before you decided to change was dam near perfect. Everything was how (in my opinion) a forum should look and feel. Everything was just right. This new……whatever it is…..really just sucks. Sorry but that is how I feel.

Keep it if you like but I really don’t see it growing AT ALL. in it’s current form. Even MT with it’s SUPER horrible software is better than what this place is now.

It was fun but moving on till……well……you guys figure it out.

I appreciate your feedback AON, good or bad.

Looks are subjective but what about the new site doesn’t feel or look like a forum?

As far as I am concerned, and from a format perspective, this is a big improvement from the previous change. It is definitely something to continue to improve upon.

There is nothing inherently better on the MT forum from a format perspective, as far as I can tell.

Maybe if AoN, or anyone else that is of the same opinion, can explain what makes that site better. It’s just different.

Generally liking the newest new look. Took me awhile to find the tab for  recent post for a good, fast way to find the most recent comments and commenting traffic is definitely down. I do like the social media integration and that may drive new traffic if used well. Photos are a huge part of a car oriented web site and the front page and forum picture management is much improved. Haven’t tried to insert video yet in a forum post under the new format but since BBCodes are allowed, I assume just copying an embed link will work.

To insert videos (YouTube) all you need to do is insert the share link.

Ideally, if this forum and the facebook page was linked so that posts could be viewed on the facebook page, it would drive more traffic.  The old forum (the one that came before the last one we just had) did not do anything to grow traffic.  Sorry, that is just the truth.  We are trying to leverage social media more to get more views and we are playing around with options.  Is it perfect, no, but it is a work in progress.

Agree 100%. That’s why the social media integration in the new look is so important. I just did a photo from the Cadillac CTS review to my Pinterest account and will try to use some of the other options as well. This is how we’ll help new users discover the site.

Some things missing that may be of interest for users.

Polls, as silly as it may seem I liked the ability to vote on some threads.

FYI, I have added more suggestions HERE, but I keep finding those suggestions are actually already there and I just hadn’t discovered them yet. LOL

I will add more here as I remember other stuff.

Here’s a suggestion (and it relates to this reply), does the quoted text need to be such a huge font size? LOL

Poll option should be up sometime during the weekend.

As for the size of the quote text, what Rev said. :stuck-out-tongue-wink:

That’s two forum iterations in a row that has AON threatening to leave. I think you guys are onto something good here!

Yeah, Wings and Casa certainly are fitting in well there. Neutered a bit, but the same ol’ stuff nonetheless.

And MT’s software is so abysmal that posting there is such a chore, I can’t believe they are holding onto the members as it is.

There is so much to like here now. the post rate (and members returning with new ones to be added) should grow.

Keep up with it guys. The fact that you are so active in putting up a wide breadth of posts on different issues/subjects/brands etc. are a very compelling reason for me to keep posting/viewing.
