2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ

The all-new 2014 Impala, Chevrolet’s flagship sedan, will go on sale this spring with a starting price of $27,535, including an $810 destination charge.

Impala was America’s best-selling full-size sedan in 2011, with sales of more than 171,000, which made it one of the 10 best-selling cars in the United States

“We’ll build on the success the Impala nameplate has generated over its history,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Chevrolet marketing. “We’ve added sophisticated design features, more technology and safety equipment, while conserving Impala’s current strengths like spaciousness and comfort.”

Chevrolet’s latest MyLink radio debuts in the 2014 Impala. The in-vehicle entertainment system adds an eight-inch color display screen that is customizable. The system also adopts natural voice recognition – a first for Chevy.

The 2014 Impala has several new features, including Adaptive Cruise Control and crash-avoidance technologies like Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert. Ten standard airbags are included as well – among the most in the segment.

Three direct-injection engine choices will be available to customers: a 3.6L V-6, a newly designed 2.5L four-cylinder and a 2.4L four-cylinder with fuel-saving eAssist technology that is estimated to deliver 35 mpg. All engines are matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2014 Impala will be offered in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels.

The 3.6L, 305-horsepower-engine will come to market first, with a starting price of $30,760 for the LT and $36,580 for the LTZ, including destination charges.

The 2.5L engine is priced as follows: $27,535 for the LS; $29,785 for the LT; $34,555 for the LTZ.

Pricing for the 2.4L engine with eAssist will be announced later.

The new Impala will be built in the Oshawa, Ontario, and Detroit-Hamtramck, Mich., assembly plants.

This puts it about $3500 under the Avalon

May as well shut down the assembly line for the 'bu now. Between this and the Cruze, it'll get crushed.

It just moved into my 'must check out' list for the GTP's replacement. Much as I like the idea of the 2.0t, there's still no replacement for displacement.

Notice there is no mention of the eAssist Eco model. I wonder if they scrapped it after the dismal reviews of the Malibu Eco.

Call me crazy.. but I think that plenty of people will want something in between a 182 and 200 inch vehicle. The Malibu's sales will come on line very soon.. mark my word. Don't believe the attempts to screw it's sales potential by the media because it lacks 1 frakking inch of legroom in the rear.

Again.. I want to kno who these clowns are that are chauffeuring 6'2 grown adults around in the backseat.idk I own a Tahoe.. and very rarely does the backseat get ridden in. So much so that I pulled my third row out 6 years ago and haven't once pulled it from the cedar closet

Actually bad news. At that price point it is substantially higher than the current model.

For that purpose they need to continue making the current Impala as the Chevrolet Classic.

CG, reread the sixth blurb.
Redsky, are you even old enough to rent a car? If you were, you would be very happy that Impala or Taurus or Camry (yes, you can rent Camrys) is available when you step off the plane.
Did you lnow that in Japan, Toyota IS a car rental company? In fact, all the majors in Japan do direct rentals.

Thanks, I was looking at the pricing chart.

I'm liking the idea of a larger car as my kids are getting older. I think both my lads are going to significantly outgrow me (won't be hard to do), and my eldest actually liked the rental Impala I had recently - one of the few compliments he's handed out despite all the testers I've had this year (the millenials will be a TOUGH crowd for automakers.)

I'm definitely going to give the Impala a close look once it's out, but I'll be skipping the 'bu.

P.S. It looks awesome in blue and especially that red.bow
